There is an urgent gas safety matter affecting certain gas hobs which has been identified in ALL forms of holiday and residential accommodation, including residential park homes (mobile homes), holiday caravans/lodges (static caravans), touring caravans, motorhomes and camper vans. The Government’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has been made aware that some gas hobs may be fitted with a connector that is at risk of failing in certain circumstances whether the hob is in use or not. Should it fail, this could lead to a gas leak or fire.
For advice about whether your hob is affected, please tel: 0800 208 1058 or go to the Gas Hobs Product Safety Repair website.
If you find your hob is on the affected list, please stop using it immediately and turn it off using the gas isolation valve. Please contact the manufacturer to arrange corrective action.
